Macro Productivity

I used to spend a lot of time studying tactics for better productivity.

Pomodoro timers, productivity planners, scheduling every minute in my calendar.

But I realized those things didn’t matter.

They didn’t matter if I was working on the wrong thing.

They didn’t matter if I wasn’t getting enough sleep.

They didn’t matter if I wasn’t exercising and feeling good.

They didn’t matter if I was working on things I didn’t enjoy.

When it comes down to it, the people that get those things right do far more than those that don’t.

Learning extra productivity strategies can help.

But we should be focusing on the macro contributors to productivity instead.

Nail those, and you won’t need the tactics.
