The Perfect Photo

Photography has changed a lot in the last 25 years.

Digital is the new norm.

The cost of an extra photo is almost nothing with digital storage.

But some things haven’t changed, like the process of a photoshoot.

You start by getting the right lighting, equipment, and people in the right place at the right time. Your aim is to maximize the chance of a great photo.

But you don’t know ahead of time which photo will be best.

The one where the model looks at the camera just the right way.

The one where the sun glints, or the flock of birds flies through the frame.

Life is a lot like that too.

We set things up as best we can and we take a bunch of shots.

Most won’t work out, but a few will, and the best we can do is make sure we pay attention to what's working.

Prepare well, take your shots, repeat.

Some of those shots will turn into perfect photos.
